Local artist Gina Toigo will showcase her paintings on March 2nd at The Charlton Abbott. Gina Louise Toigo, a resident painter and mixed media artist, draws her inspiration from nature and the environment, portraying the innate beauty of her subjects through her unique perspective. Gina's artistic journey began at the age of 11 when she was honored with the New York City Scholastic Achievement Award for her geometric linocut. Despite her enduring passion for art and color, Gina pursued an MBA and ventured into healthcare administration to secure a stable income. Alongside her professional pursuits, she dedicated herself to artistic development, receiving personalized instruction from renowned artists during her time in Cincinnati and Charleston, SC. Furthermore, Gina expanded her creative horizons by studying fashion design at The Image Resource Center of New York, where she achieved certification as an Image Consultant. With a fervent love for color, fashion, and design, Gina's preferred mediums are acrylic and mixed media, incorporating inks, oils, pastels, rare papers, and pastes to infuse her pieces with texture and distinctive design elements. Her artistic evolution is deeply influenced by immersive retreats to natural settings that ignite her creativity.
